Public Hearing Notice Rosendale Library District Capital Project

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

ON ROSENDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT CAPITAL PROJECT

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Rosendale, Ulster County, New York, and the Board of Trustees of the Rosendale Public Library will meet at the request of the said Board of Trustees at the Town Hall, in Cottekill, New York, in said Town, on May 6, 2026, at 7 o’clock P.M. Prevailing Time, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing upon a certain architect’s map, plan and report including an estimate of cost prepared in relation to the proposed increase and improvement of the facilities of the Rosendale Public Library District in the Town of Rosendale, Ulster County, New York, consisting of the construction of an addition and improvements to the Rosendale Library Building, including original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus, appurtenances, site work and other incidental improvements and costs incidental thereto. The maximum estimated cost of the aforesaid increase and improvement of the facilities of Rosendale Public Library District in the Town is $1,950,000, with an increase in the annual budget of the Library District of $136,000 to cover the cost of the maximum annual debt service to be due and payable on debt of the Town issued on behalf of the Library District therefor pursuant to Chapter 530 of the Laws of 1987, and payable from the Library District annual budget.

SEQRA DETERMINATION. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the aforesaid project has been determined to be a Type II Action pursuant to the regulations of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation promulgated pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”), the implementation of which as proposed, the Board of Trustees of the Rosendale Public Library has determined, as such, will not result in any significant adverse environmental impacts. Full SEQRA documentation is available at the office of the Board of Trustees of the Rosendale Public Library at 264 Main Street, in Rosendale, New York, during normal office hours.

At said public hearing said Town Board and said Library Board of Trustees will hear all persons interested in the subject matter thereof.
